Sir Geoffrey, cricketing legend 108 matches for England, 193 innings, 8114 runs, highest score 246 * average 47.72, hundreds 22. County cricket, 414 matches for Yorkshire, scoring 32,570 runs at an average of 57.85, highest score of 260* and 103 centuries on all. Twice averaged over 100 in a season, only one other has achieved this.
John Stiles is the son of Nobby Stiles and is the only Leeds Utd sub to have been subbed!
The OSA would like you to join us for Sunday lunch at Scarborough Rugby Club on Sunday 8th June 2025 12:30 for 1:00pm.

A traditional 3 course Sunday lunch will be served followed by Sir Geoffrey talking about his long cricket and broadcasting career, with John Stiles hosting the afternoon.
This will be an afternoon of great food, entertainment, and the chance for us to raise money towards the re-building of the cricket pavilion at school.
Tickets are £85, or book a table for 10 at £825, with all profits going towards the great cause.
Special dietary needs will be catered for, and numbers are limited, so get in quick! We will contact you a little closer to the event for your choices for lunch.

The 2025 AGM will take place on Saturday 17th May to be held in the Sixth Form Study area at College, starting at 12:00 pm

So if you want to attend the Roaring Forties+ and Rowlands et al event then you need to get a ticket. There might be an “interesting” lesson on the Roaring Forties!

OSA Ball 2024
A reminder that the OSA Ball takes place on Saturday, November 9th at the Spa.
Details are in the flyer displayed below.
Leavers of 2024 are entitled to a free ticket on condition that they are full members of the OSA. Letters were distributed with IB results and fell into three categories, those who are Full members, those who need to pay the rest of their subscription – £25 and those who have paid nothing.

Commemoration of the life of Ian Parkinson
Annie Parkinson wishes you to know that ‘The celebration of Ian Parkinson’s life will be very informal, a gathering, where people can talk, reminisce, share memories of Ian , enjoy some food and drink and stay for as long as they want. There is no order of service, just a welcome as people arrive and many , many thanks to all those who have shared their memories of Ian. ‘
This will take place on Tuesday 27th August, 2:30-5:30pm at Lisvane Hall, Scarborough College YO11 3BA

OSA Reunion – May 20th-21st – The Rowe Years & CCF
Calling all former Scarborough College students! Your invitation to this year’s annual OSA Reunion has arrived.
On Saturday 20 May 2023 at 7.00 p.m., we will celebrate the Keith Rowe Era and The CCF. We are delighted to welcome back Keith Rowe as the guest of honour at this OSA Reunion Dinner, to be held at Scarborough College. We hope to encourage as many former pupils as possible who were at the College during Keith’s era (1970-2000). Those who were involved in the CCF, those who were in Hartford House, enjoyed Keith’s Biology lessons or for no other reason than you were at SC and would like to catch up with old friends.
We are excited to announce that The Yorkshire Corps of Drums will be performing during the evening, making for a spectacular event.
On the day of the reunion, all are welcome to attend the AGM at 12.00 p.m., followed by a school tour at 1.00 p.m. On Sunday 21 May, we will host a cricket match, OSA vs Scarborough College, at 11.00 a.m.

March 2022 Reunion – Celebrating 50 years of co-education
Dear OS,
The March Reunion is almost upon us and it is with great pleasure that we invite you to purchase your tickets. Please see the images for further details about the event, to be held on Saturday 12th March at Scarborough RUFC. The Reunion is open to all former students of Scarborough College.

The College will be open from 2pm until 4pm on Saturday 12th for former students to have a look around the school. If you would like to book a place on the tour of the main building at 2pm, please email us.
On Sunday 13th March at 11am, we hope to hold a men’s, ladies’ or mixed hockey match. Please let us know if you wish to play.

Quickly following on from last week’s announcement of ‘Tickets Sold Out’ The Spa venue for The OSA Ball on Sat 20th Nov, has released extra tickets for us to sell.
A ticket waiting list had been set up so you may have to act fast. We will keep the sales open until Nov 1st or until it’s a sell out for the 2nd time!
