Weaponness redevelopment begins

No sooner had half-term arrived than the estates team were busy emptying Weaponness  of furniture ahead of the builders’ arrival. Much of the furniture was offered free to anyone who would collect. The development and refurbishment, following on from the work on Crews, will take around 11 months. In addition to major internal change there will be an extension built on the west side (Weaponness Park) allowing for an increase in capacity.

The builders arrived, demolished the garage and built a ‘road’ to allow access to the site. We hope to provide regular updates on the progress of another major investment in boarding at the College.

Refurbishment of Crews

The photos give you a very good impression of the superb house that is now Denys Crews. The 17 students have moved their possessions in and will take up residence after half term. During the refurbishment they have been in Weaponness (formerly Bankory  and before that Armstrong). This excellent development provides a marker for the further refurbishments which are coming on stream – starting with an extension and refurbishment of Weaponness, whose students have taken up residence in some of the accommodation at North Riding College (also known as University of Hull at Scarborough and now the home of Scarborough TEC).

Mollie & Mike Friendship Bench

Sometimes you have to wait for the good things in life. Today Tim Jones (former President of the OSA) and Zoe Harrison took delivery of the Mollie and Mike Memorial Friendship bench. Thanks to all who donated towards this special memorial seat in honour and memory of two truly special people who touched and shaped the lives of thousands of children who were in their care at Lisvane. Already being enjoyed by the next Scarborough College generation.
