School Liaison

My first experience of Scarborough College was visiting Lisvane Prep School in 1977.  My lasting memory was of a very warm school, a family place full of kind and happy children and teachers offering an adventure I couldn't wait to be a part of.  I enjoyed a glass of milk and biscuits whilst sitting in front of the fire in Mr Chaplin's study as my parents discussed my future in Scarborough.

I joined Lisvane in September 1978, moving to Scarborough College in 1983 and finally leaving the College in 1988 after completing A levels - sometimes it feels like I have never left! I then went on to start a career in banking, whilst being coerced on to the OSA Committee.  I married Patrick, a Wolds farmer and soon Henry joined our family.  A career change into Garden Design whilst enjoying being a full-time mother followed allowing me to continue playing sport, which has always been a key part of my life, throughout school and ever since. In 1999 I joined the Board of Governors as the OSA representatives and held this role for 14 years until stepping down to take up a part-time marketing role at the College.  Henry has also been through the College and is now at University and I am now still very much involved with the OSA and currently Director of Marketing for the College.  I love seeing how the school has changed, welcoming old faces back and seeing the next generation come through our doors, wondering just where their Scarborough College adventure will take them.
